Dimensions of Sprocket

Sprockets may be classified into regular sprockets, HK sprockets as well as other sprockets.
1. Regular sprocket
Standard sprockets are ANSI sprockets which could be engaged with standard series roller chains. See P125 for dimensions.
You can find two types of tooth profiles: U-tooth and S-tooth.
two. HK sprocket
HK sprockets can be engaged with HK series roller chains, and those for single strand chains are identical to regular sprockets. However, sprockets for a number of strand chains are different from typical sprockets in sprocket tooth profile.
3. Other sprockets
Other sprockets are created according for the following calculation formulas to suit respective specialty chains.
The sprockets utilized for the following chains would be the very same as the regular sprockets in tooth gap form, but unique in tooth thickness (sprocket tooth profile).
4. Calculation of sprocket dimensions
The dimensions of typical sprockets and various general sprockets are calculated as follows. At the outset, the diameters of sprockets are calculated from the following calculation formulas.
Upcoming, sprocket tooth profile (the shape on the tooth based on its thickness) is calculated in the following calculation formulas. (The values shown inside the following pages had been calculated by these formulas and thought to be the regular values.)
Calculation formulas for diameters and tooth gap varieties Calculation formulas for diameters
Calculation of pitch diameter, tip diameter and caliper diameter
The essential dimensions of the sprocket suitable for a chain pitch of 1 mm are respectively identified as pitch diameter component, tip diameter component and caliper diameter factor. The respective factors for respective numbers of teeth are listed beneath. If these things are multiplied by chain pitch, the basic dimensions with the corresponding sprocket can be obtained.
From the case of 80 (25.forty mm pitch) with 35 teeth Pitch diameter (Dp) = P×Pitch diameter element
Calculation formulas for tooth gap kinds
Because the most rational tooth gap types in which the pressure angle improvements in response to the elongation of a smoothly rotated roller chain using the lapse of services time, ANSI specify two varieties of tooth profiles: U-type and S-type. Normally, S-type tooth profiles are adopted in accordance with ANSI, and our conventional sprockets also have S-tooth profiles.
